This infill urban site is located in the mews interior of the Georgian city centre. The mews lane presents a secret world of interiors screened by security walls; in our case a tower house and a courtyard house combine to provide a live-work residence for a small business. A central courtyard brings light and air to the core of the plot, with the perimeter fully inhabited with home arranged on 3 levels to the north, capturing south light in both clerestory light and semi-underground courtyards. The office at the street also allows for occasional guests, or shopfront/ workshop/ studio space.
