This adaption of a family home reconfigures the interior of the house to accommodate the changing needs of the family, with studies, dens, guest rooms and play spaces. The rear of the house is opened out to the garden, with a new glazed pavilion resting lightly on the south-facing terrace. The construction comprises of a trellis of timber posts and beams, supporting a thin roof over, as a garden pergola. This roof slides away from the existing house to allow filtered light into the kitchen throughout the day.
