This existing house in Dalkey has a northerly aspect and the client had concerns that the house did not connect the garden at the lower level to the main living spaces. Our project is intended to reverse this situation with a garden pavilion providing views, light and a direct link between living accommodation and the garden, using geometrically determined rooflights to capture all available sunlight. The original house now includes the sleeping accommodation and a formal reception room, whilst the new spaces are linked by a terrace at the main entrance level overlooking Dublin Bay.
